About
Built by an independent engineer
ScanAble is a one-person product, made by Jobelo Quintero — a principal engineer with 10+ years in TypeScript, Python, and web infrastructure. No VC money, no sales team, no roadmap committee. The buyer pays $49 (or $149 for a site audit), and the money funds the people who build the scanner.
Why ScanAble exists
The accessibility tooling market sits at two extremes. On one end, free browser extensions that flag issues but produce no shareable evidence — useful for developers, useless for compliance officers. On the other, six-figure manual audits that take weeks to schedule and arrive as Word documents nobody can verify.
Most buyers don’t need either. They need a signed, defensible audit artifact for a single page or a sitemap, fast, at a price that doesn’t require a procurement review. That’s the gap ScanAble fills.
I built it because that gap kept showing up in my own work — sites I shipped that needed to demonstrate compliance to a partner, a regulator, or a customer’s legal team without spinning up a multi-week engagement. Once the tool existed, it made sense to charge a fair price for it and let other people use it too.
What we believe
Three positions inform every product decision. Each one has its own page; together they’re the operating system.
No overlays
We don’t sell, license, or recommend accessibility overlay widgets. They patch symptoms, not source code.
Open scoring
The exact compliance-score formula, severity weights, and a worked example are public. You can audit our audit.
Signed reports
Every PDF carries an Ed25519 signature you can verify at /verify/<id>. Tampering breaks the signature.
How we work
- Async-first. Support and pre-sales run over email at support@scanable.dev. No calls, no sales meetings, no demo bookings.
- Honest about gaps. Automated tools (including ours, Lighthouse, Pa11y, WAVE) catch roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues per Deque’s own published research. Every PDF includes a “What This Audit Does Not Cover” section spelling out exactly which categories require manual review.
- Refunds within 7 days. If the scan is broken or the report is wrong, you get your money back. We’d rather refund than argue.
- No data resold. We don’t publish customer-submitted URLs. We don’t persist authentication cookies. We don’t train models on your scan data. The full disclosure is on the privacy page.
